I try to at least look as much normal as I can I be. It's hard. The others don't have a heart locket. The others didn't see their own sister die. I look like this to others. While inside of me, I look like this. No soul; nothing.
I pat down a fur sticking up on my fluffy tail and headed upstairs. I made and ate breakfast, and now I was getting ready to leave. Then my father and mother rush toward me. They give each other anxious looks at each other and then at me. Mother pats my back and says, "Have fun exploring on your field trip to... to Zios' grave site, Twinkle. Be careful too." She then touches her tiara on her head with a paw. To make sure it was still on her head, or something else. I couldn't tell. The look she gave me worried me. Father worried me even more- if that's even possible. "Ah Twinkle," he says. "You are going to a place has affected our family drastically. We haven't been over there in a long, long time." Father was exaggerating; he didn't want to bring up Fauna. He continued. "Remember to not talk to strangers- especially others that aren't foxes, to be aware of your surroundings, and most importantly, stay safe. Your mother and I love you, Twinkle."
I smiled as best as I could at the moment at them. I say, "Of course Mom and Dad. Love ya too." Then as I headed down the street to meet my class outside the school building, I looked over my shoulder and waved goodbye with my tail. I walk some more until I spot Miss Fox, the students waiting with her, and others coming in like I was. It seemed I was the last one to arrive, which means I'm at the back of the line going to the field trip and at it. Miss Fox scans the group of her students, nods, and says, "Okay let's start going."
