Well, I tried fixing an old art piece.
Will I ever finish a drawing and be satisfied with it? Hmm.. nah. This one still looks like a rough sketch.
So on with it I shall go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loved and Forgiven
No. Never.
Unloved and Unforgiven
(“Do you love me?” “No.”)
A son lacking a mother’s love. A mother who can not love her son.
Unlovable! Unlovable! Unlovable!
The words hit like daggers. Blades tearing the child’s heart to shreds.
Unloved! Unloved! Unloved!
Yet he remains standing.
Years later:
(“Will you forgive me?” “Never.”)
He was put in hell. Multiple times by multiple people. His mother was the first person to put him in hell.
Abuse. Trauma. Pain. Suffering.
LiesLiesLiesLiesLiesLies
If she thinks he will forgive her for everything —all the torment— she put him in, she is sadly mistaken.
He is UNLOVED.
She is UNFORGIVEN.
That is the story of mother and son. Unloved son; unforgiven mother.
[visible in the drawing]
Young Duke, 4 or 5 years old: Do you love me?
Calliah: No.
[not visible but is important]
Calliah, near the end of story 1: Will you forgive me?
Duke: No, I’ll never forgive you.
The parallels of cursed son and mother being rejected.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah, the mother-son relationship of Calliah and Duke.
I missed thinking about them. I missed writing about them.
I definitely have a complicated relationship with myself when it comes to appreciating both of these characters.

Makes one wonder what made Calliah like that... *thinks about it for a bit before patting Duke* You did not deserve that my dude, I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteAh, I might have been thinking of a backstory for Calliah over the years, but I'm hesitant on sharing it for.. reasons. But I can say that I'm sorry for both of them in my weird author ways.
DeleteIt doesn't excuse everything she did to Duke though.
Duke: *hugs*
