*Hey guys. I'm here with Chapter 38. But, as usual, I have a few notes to make before actually starting the chapter.*
*I changed my Blogger Profile pic to one that looks like Twinkle. XD*
*This chapter is much shorter than the recent ones I made.*
*Be intrigued and confused! >:U*
*Okay, enjoy!*

TWINKLE
Cold drops of water pour down all around me. One drop slides into my shirt's collar and begins to make its way down the back of my neck. I know that I wished for nice, cold water to refresh me; wash away all the sweat and dirt that I collected after living outside for so many nights now. But I wasn't expecting it to be like this. No, not at all.
Suddenly, the most beautiful female fox I've ever seen steps forward from the hidden shadows behind her. When she takes another step forward, the space where I am gets illuminated this very faint color blue. I squint my eyes due to the sudden pale bright light.
"She must be from a fantasy," I murmur to myself.
"Not exactly a fantasy, my dear," she says, her voice as soothing as lace. As I feel the tips of one of her wings gently brush my left shoulder, I immediately tense up.
I can feel my heartbeat increasing rapidly. Only then do I realize no more drops pour down around me. I bite my lower lip.
The weird and winged fox continues, "I'm just the daughter of--" She suddenly cuts off her sentence and folds in her wings.
I perk my left ear up in puzzlement. I observe her. Blue-silver fur with what looks like glittering stars in her fur; hair in a bun with two strands neatly curled that reach her jawline and compliment her face; eyes the very color of sapphire; a silk dress the color of bright blue ice; wings made up of frost-tipped feathers the color of snow right after it's fallen. I blink, a drop of water resting on the top of my eyelashes dripping onto my snout. I shake my head slowly.
She looks like a younger fox version of Mira. I stare at her again, completely mesmerized. Who, what, wh--
"Why are you with the Corruptors, Twinkle? You shouldn't be here- especially not with them. The destiny that awaits you is to be a Savior, not a Destroyer. Staying with the Corruptors and being around the Destroyers will just bring the burden of endless bloodshed on your shoulders."
"What are you talk--"
Before I can finish my sentence, she's gone.
DUKE
"Let's go!" I repeat myself. Losing all the patience I have left, I tug Twinkle's right paw bringing her to her feet. Her heels dig into the ground as her feet skid clumsily.
"Wh-Wha? Huh?" she stammers, then bumping into me. After standing still in complete and awkward silence with her nose- that's freakishly freezing and wet- pressed into the furs on the right side of my neck and her body practically leaning against mine, she speaks, her voice muffled in my neck, "Oops, s'ry," and then steps back out of the slightly awkward position.
I roll my eyes at her, letting out an exasperated sigh. "Stop stalling, Twinkle! We have to go across this beach, and then find which cave Dawn's in."
A few yards ahead of us, the hard and rocky dirt ground turns into a paler color and softer sand. I'm so close, yet so far away...
I sigh again. She's just gonna be in the way.
"You never told me why you 'need' to see Dawn. You do know that, right Duke?"
I grumble to myself. "It's too complicated for you to understand. I need to see her again. It's very urgent."
"Is it because you can't wait for us three to use our powers to their extents?" Twinkle asks. To me, she sounds way too innocent when says that. I feel thrown back and hesitate before replying.
"Uh... Yeah that. I can't wait." is all I can come up with as an answer. Using our powers to their fullest is too destructive. The forces of fire and ice back-to-back are so powerful and extreme, and Twinkle doesn't know how deadly flames can be. Too close, and you're immediately a goner. And that's with the orange flames. The black flames are just the definition of the cause of a painful death.
This time, Twinkle sighs. "Honestly Duke, sometimes I just don't get you. Why do you really want to meet up with Dawn so badly? She'll probably come back sooner or later to lead us to where the training area is. And besides, I thought you disliked her when we first met her."
Why do I really have to see Dawn again? I answer, "She can explain things I never was able to on my own."
Even though I know that's not the true reason I have to meet up with her again, I have to admit that what I just told Twinkle wasn't completely a lie. Dawn can explain to me everything, all the memories I've lost as Fierdan. It's almost as if her very presence is bringing back fragmented memories.
And those memories are connecting me with her. Yet I do not know our connection. 'Remember', I should say.
Being Fierdan's reincarnation, I should be able to recall all his past memories. No, my past memories- but just from a different time.
But I can't.
If we're the same, why are we divided in so many ways? It's almost as if I'm purposefully not allowed to recall my memories as Fierdan.
But why... Why am I not able to remember?
Am I that much of a disgrace to society? To my own true father?
Is Fierdan that much of a disgrace to this world?
Yes. I, Fierdan, am a disgrace. No matter what happens, reincarnation and original don't matter.
Fierdan will always be the eternal disgrace and burden to Jamaa. That began ever since the dawn of time.
THANK YOUIUUUUUUUUU ARE AMAZING OMG THX
ReplyDeleteI POSTED THIS WITH YOU IN MY HEAD. O.O

Deleteugh.. um.. if I were to draw something besides Twinkle's story for you, what would you like? uwu (in a birthday perspective of course)
ReplyDeleteAnd NO you DON'T want your memories back, lil Duke.
But wait, this doesn't make any sense. If Duke got all his memories of Fierdan in the past chapter, why is he acting normally now??? (GOSH cutepups stop being so indecisive >:U)
IDK ugh I cannot make decisions that make sense. *explodes*
