Explaining the PARCC (but not really) + Curse This Dang Dress

Hey guys. Guess what?

"IT'S FRIDAY, FRIDAY! GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY!"

Yes. Totally normal. XD

Okay, so I read your comments. On my last post. And I see that many of you are confused about what the PARCC is. (Not really, but I'll explain it anyways.)

Now, now. I'm going to show you the average test problems on the test that I have to take (so grade 9- yes, I know I'm like a senior citizen compared to you. Not really. I hate school, okay?)

Image result for parcc

But first off... Comment Call! (At beginning of post cuz I be such rebel yolo sweggsters.)

WHAT COLORS DO YOU SEE ON THE DRESS?

DO YOU CHILDREN SEE BLACK & BLUE, WHITE & GOLD, OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT......?

I only see black and blue. I just can't see it in white and gold. I can't.

Literally the latest conversation trend at school today. Just learned about this, this morning. My friends be like: *shoves phone in my face* "OMG -insert my name here-, WHAT COLORS ARE THIS UGLY DRESS!?" And then I be like: "Uh.... Black and blue. Why?" And then they be all like: "OMG NO, YOU FAILED, -insert my name here-! IT'S OBVIOUSLY WHITE AND GOLD!"

Then I be like: *squints at screen looking at ugly dress* *sees gold on top but barely* "Erm, no... That's blue and black. Not white and gold." Then they're like: "OMG YOU'RE JUST LIKE -insert friends' names here- WHO ALSO THINK IT'S BLACK AND BLUE! NO!!! IT'S WHITE AND GOLD. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So yeah. That's basically my school day for today. XD

What about you? X3

(Yes, I know there's this scientific explanation about why, but I'm too lazy to post about that.)

So yeah. Life........

Oh, that's right! The PARCC!

I nickname this PARCC test the "test of hell" because it's like devils created it to torment us students.

(Good explanation, Cutepups. Good explanation indeed. ^-^)

Here are some average questions on the PARCC practice for me.

(From various links from this general link: http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/)

Okay. So I'm gonna show you some of them. And like show you how impossible they are. (I never learned most of this stuff, the wording of the questioning is extremely confusing, and the timing to do all of it is so short and limited. Oh, and it has to be took on a completely different iPad- not comfortable with.)

So yeah. First, ELA. (I had to take these practice questions for both ELA and math.)

(Zoom in to read.)

*skips more questions- blahblahblah*

So basically here in this section, it requires you to read 3 long and complex articles. Then you have to answer the very confusing questions (that are sometimes impossible to answer- technology glitches where nobody can assist you on during the test :I). And then after that, type up an essay synthesizing what you just read.

So yeah.

But wait, there's more! Then read this very confusingly wordy story, answer the questions for that, and write the same story situations in a different character's POV.

Yep. That's the test I have to take. :'(

And for math, what the heck does this even mean!?!?!?! O.o
I swear, I never learned that. (This school year, at least.)

And then there's these multi-step algebra problems.

So yeah. If you think your schoolwork is "hard", try doing this. c:

If you think this is "easy", then you're either:

A) A child genius.
B) You didn't look at the PARCC.
C) You are lying.
D) Your education is far better than mine.
E) You are older and wiser than me.
F) I don't know any other possible reasons at this particular moment. :L

And that is why the month of March will be when I take this test of hell- I mean the PARCC.

Now you know the torturous hell that's called "school" for me! >.<

But "opting-out" is allowed.

I'm not gonna do that, though. Too much stuff and conflict and notes and crud.

Yes, it's taken on teachers' iPads. Not my iPad.Not pencil and paper. On a strange piece of technology. So that causes stress by itself.

And these lunatics (Pearson people) who created this monstrous test are expecting this from us?

(Yes, there's something serious wrong with them. Like, I don't know, forcing 3rd graders to synthesize poems!?)

Whelp, that's all I'll say. I probably confused your innocent young minds enough already with this cruddy shiz.

See ya! (No, not really. You know what I mean. I'm not really a stalker. Just so you all know. XD)

    1. It's so weird that dress. :P

HA, HA! I'M RIGHT! BEAT THAT, -insert my annoying friend's name who wouldn't shut up about seeing white and gold, not you-!!!!! >:D (I just watched the news, and the dress designer showed the same dress and said the picture of that dress is a royal blue dress.) >:3

    2. It's white and gold for me... Is this some sort of illusion?!?!

    3. Sorta... I searched it up, and it said it's how your brain sees the shadows and lighting in the picture. Like for black and blue, the background is way too bright so the dress has to be darker to make sense. And for white and gold, the dress is reflecting the dress. I think that's what it said, anyways. I also heard that the people see black and blue (such as me- haha) are night-owls (people who go to bed late/stay up all night). And I'm one *goes to bed at 11pm earliest every night* XD

So I think it kinda is an illusion; kinda not.

  2. I see white and gold XD. My friends and I went to all the teachers and asked them what do they see. For most of the day, I was like: "Excuse me! I have a very important question to ask you. *pulls out phone dramatically and shows it to teacher* what colour is this dress?" Then my friend who thought it looked blue and black kept pointing to the ground (aka snow) and yelling, "IS THAT BLUE? *points to blue coat* IS THAT WHITE? *points to red hat* WHAT COLOUR IS THAT?"

  4. Ugh, I'm sick of seeing that dress! All of my friends showed me it and talked about it. Even my teacher talked about it. I've seen the dress at least 14 times today. O.O It's obviously black and blue, but the reason why some people see that it's gold and white is because the sun was shining at the back of the dress. I have no idea why people made such a big fuss about it.

    1. People talked about this ever since I stepped into the school building to on the bus going back home (7:30-2:00). Non-stop. I was like "O-O What's the big deal!?" but then I heard people see it differently, and then I'm like, "This is strange...." I'm also annoyed at it being talked about for every 5 minutes in school (by girls and boys), but I'm curious about who sees it which way and the other. And I was bored. So I wanted to know what you guys think. :P

    2. I re-read my comment, and I found that it may seem that I'm kind of complaining because you posted about the dress. o3o Just clarifying this, I don't mind anyone talking about the dress. It's just that way too many people talk about nothing but just a dress. Xd
