Photos from DC Trip

What has happened has happened. The past is in the past; let's start anew. My name is Cutepups. I made my name Cutepups when I was a stupid 12 year old. ;)

um what

In other words.. ahem.. what I posted, what happened in the comment sections of those posts.. those are in the past now. Let's go back to less depressing vent posts! Hi, it's me. Cutepups. Blue. S. Whichever name you prefer to call me. Yeah, newness.

um what

So anywho, my siblings came back from their colleges for winter break (though my brother isn't spending his break home with us lol) and I told them about my extremely busy trip in Washington DC a few weeks back.

So then I remembered I never posted any photos I took on the trip.

I'm too lazy to explain in detail each photo. Basically, the sunset one is from when we were at this reststop. The sky looks like it's on fire! And the rest are the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the WW2 memorial, and the MLK memorial (the order of events in which I took the photos isn't the order in which I'll post them here).

But before that, a very brief summary of what happened in DC.

- Doing group work and not being able to go into our hotel rooms (nevertheless to sleep) until 11:30 pm each night

- Waking up at 7:30 am each morning

- Dividing into seminar groups to discuss the issues in America we're the most interested in

- Lot of discussions on controversial topics

- All about social justice

- Exploring DC's landmarks and museums and shopping areas

- Typing speeches in small groups or partners to then later be presented (via public speaking) to Senate or House of Representatives

I don't feel like diving into all the details with you guys, so that's an extremely vague summary of what happened while I was there. Sorry.

I also don't want to bore you to death by me rambling about what I did and all them social justice stuff. I explained to my family everything I did. It took over 2 hours. I'm not in the mood to type up a post for that long explaining what I did. Just be glad I'm posting photos (only a select few though lol.. I have my reasons) for you guys to see.

Cool stuff :)

  1. Since I can't type anything after the pictures, I'll just explain what they are here.

Photo 1 is the sunset photo I was talking about. It was on the trip back home after DC. I'm in love with that sunset, okay?

Photos 2 and 3 are from the World War II (WW2) memorial.

Photos 4 and 6 are the Washington Monument. It is reflected in what I believe is called the Reflection Pool. I took these two specific Washington Monument photos from while I was at the Lincoln Memorial. They're like opposite each other. The color of the bricks at the top of the monument is different from the ones at the bottom.

Photo 5 is from inside the Lincoln Memorial. That statue is of President Lincoln, if you didn't know.

Photo 7 is from the Martin Luther King Jr memorial (MLK memorial). The statue of him is carved into a rock there.

Photo 8 is from the Jefferson Memorial. It's the only photo out of these that was taken at night.

So there you have it. Proof.

    1. PS: The other people in some of the photos are just random people that accidentally got in my phone's camera shot. The sunset one is from a parking lot, and the rest are really popular tourist attractions in DC. So people are everywhere. And isn't the sky beautiful in these photos? (Yes.) :)

    2. Oh yeah. That's President Jefferson in the last photo lol. In both president memorials, there are these huge sections of text from important historical US things. I didn't go inside the Washington Monument. In the center of the WW2 memorial, there's this magnificent fountain, and on the outside, there are these sculptures representing all 50 states and DC. And there are blocks of writing scattered there too, and the stars one stood out to me the most and is my favorite one.

      Haha, I'm tired..

  2. Ahh. DC!
Waiting for another 2 years of boring middle school... And then wait until may, AND THEN, go to DC.
    Very nice.
    That sky though.
    Love it <3.
I feel like a piece of crap for not commenting, yet I have been stalking this blog on my *gasp* iPhone 3.
I know its going to be a hard time, but just work with it. It'll fly away someday, like a leaf in the autumn wind.
Yes, I had to say that anology.

As for the people in the sixth picture, they seem to be in love with each other, like they are wrapping their arms together. Haha, just an observation.

Anyways, I hope to talk to you again someday, maybe before xmas.

haha, my Christmas is going to suck, no snow, all rain, and I'll be out of the country, far from the nearest computer. Well maybe.

Haha, I applaud you for reading this comment

    1. Oh she quit blogging on Blogger because she quit AJ a long time ago. I communicate with her sometimes on DeviantArt, but her username is different on there.
