Duke's Three Main Phases

I also said I would finish those sketches in another post.

Well, here I am to show you the finished version! Oh and I decided to change some things.

Duke though. This fire boy though. Mm omg. Finally have a stable art style for drawing Duke how I view him.

And of course the numbers correspond with the order of the phases. I only decided to make phase three a full body because I'm planning Duke's outfit/s in that phase. I think you know what he looks like in the first two phases.

I wrote Duke, so you know it's him. I also quickly added in the iconic purple-black phantom flame that covers his heart. Ugh, I'm still bad at drawing flames. 

Anyway, onto the explanations. >:) 

Phase 1: Duke looks the nicest and less mean. I drew him, and he looks so cute. The good Duke. Here he is before he burned that shirt. However, Duke is also in this phase when he wears the dark gray T-shirt like in the early 20s arc. He hasn't been corrupted by Fierdan and Soulless yet, so his hair isn't fully very dark brown. It's when his hair is short and only the tips are dark.

Phase 2: Duke's current look in chapters published. From the 50s arc to what's out in the 70s arc so far. His face is what he looks like based on multiple events in the 60s and 70s arc. A bitter and annoyed boy. His hair grew out, and it's fully very dark brown/almost black. Duke being aware of his corruption due to Fierdan and Soulless turned his hair darker. He looks most like Fierdan here. I drew him wearing the jacket of concealed black flames.

Phase 3: Duke's look in future chapters. Here he is towards the end of the torture chapters. After the Taurel part. Which is much later. Yes, Duke is very creepy and scary in this phase. He gets messed up so badly because I am mean. This must be the cryptid Duke. I drew him when he probably looks the most sinister and sadistic. He won't always look this scary though. This is "human Duke" in canon, I guess. His hair, eyes, ears, mouth, and paws/hands get messed up. Well, that's all you can see here. Those black eyes though. That blood though. The blood red outfit though. On his head are black flames. Only the short black lines are his hairs. Duke actually gets to be sadistic. Lot of pain towards other characters. Not just himself. I'm mean, ok. Duke has accepted his identity and fate as being the fusion of Fierdan and Soulless. His physical body is breaking apart and becoming more like Soulless. That's why the left side of his face looks like that.

I know I love making fun of Duke in skits. He is a fool. Until the first half of the 40s arc, Duke is a fool in the story. But after that, I find it hard to view him as a silly fool in the story. Too much fear and pain to not respect him. Respect.. what. He's my tragedy boy OC. Well, the one with the most tragedy I think. I love this bastard, ok.
