Taking Over

Wow, another art post?!

Uh.. yes.

This time, it's an older piece. I had the sketching and lineart done a while ago, but I colored it today.

Just around a month old. The finished pieces look different from the sketches. Like, well, a lot different. I added in more details.

So yeah. Here it is.

Little kid Fierdan and Soulless.

I didn't know how to draw Soulless, so I just drew that. Soulless probably doesn't actually look like that in the story.

That's what little kid Fierdan looks like as half-human, half-"fox". In other words, Fierdan loses his physical humanity when Soulless takes over his body.

And here is Soulless taking over Fierdan's body for the first time. Which is also known as possession.

I messed up the lineart very badly at Fierdan's mouth and Soulless's left hand.

Fierdan has no heart. It's just an empty space there. That symbolism though.

The orange around his eyes is supposed to be like the orange blazing light when he turns the color of his eyes to the color of fire.

Gosh, this poor sad and terrified boy. ;-;

Soulless isn't a physical human or fox. They're more like a light smoke colored evil spirit. So it would be hard to draw their true form.

Soulless is taking over Fierdan. Fierdan is trapped to his tragic fate.

Stop hurting him, Soulless! >:(

Just imagine Fierdan crying and screaming. I didn't draw the facial expression that great. Oops.

I think this photo shows the color of his skin better. It's hard to combine colors to get the exact right shade.

Soulless's black lines could be represented as wires or puppet strings. For a long time, Fierdan is Soulless's puppet of melancholy.

Taking over. Possession. Control. Pain. Manipulation.

Fierdan's shirt is ripped everywhere. It wasn't originally black. The black goop of what he later calls Cincernum turned it black.
