Duke vent: Who are you really?

At the end of November, I sketched a few drawings while I was upset and panicking. I already posted two, and the one I'll be posting here will be another one that I haven't posted before. I think I mentioned this one before though.

I started this drawing as a messy sketch in November. In the past few weeks, I cleaned up the lines and colored it in.

I forgot which month I drew it in, but I posted a Fierdan vent. This drawing is supposed to be a Duke vent. While I started it when I was venting, I intended for this to be as if Duke is the one venting.

I drew Duke as two halves from two different times in the story. The vertical line down the middle separates the two versions of Duke.

I might have some other drawings of Duke in different times, but in this drawing, he still has what I call his "human" identity of himself. Which means he isn't demonic/dominated by Soulless yet.

The left is supposed to be Duke at the beginning of the story before he becomes aware of himself being Fierdan and then Fierdan dominating Duke's identity. Things are more lighthearted, so there's a lighter background and his wing is orange. At this point on the left, I view Duke more as a victim so I added the halo (though I forgot exactly why I added in the halo and devil horn).

The right, I think, is supposed to be a combination of Duke right before (so when Ardere dies) and in the middle of his torture arc (with Taurel). I drew his hair messier, longer, and darker than compared to the left side. He isn't fully dressed while he is in the left side. The story for Duke is darker at this point, so the background is darker and his wing is black. He's a fusion based on abuse (Fierdan and Soulless.. yikes) and Duke ends up being a killer. So maybe that's why I added the devil horn on the right side.

I added some blood on the right side to show his more destructed state here than compared to earlier in the story on the left. He also has a nosebleed on the right side because why not. There's also faint traces of blood on his left arm (the Duke on the right). Some of the blood is coming from a syringe/arrow/whatever I drew. I also added a head bandage around the left half of his forehead to cover the bullet wounds he gets after Risak shoots him there. So it's like Duke is in the middle of being tortured but not fully there? I mean, he still has his hair? Yeah, I forgot why I drew it like this. Whoops.

Well, here it is. Oh geez. Duke.. hmm.. heck.

I fixed it up a lot. It looked much worse in November and December. It actually looks better when it's colored. Huh wow.

I intentionally covered up most of the little words floating around on the top half of the drawing, so it would be hard to read. I hear those little words as worrisome background noise. Just like anxious muttering. I call it a Duke vent because the words are words about Duke that I imagine him venting about (? yeah idk).

I think the eyes on both sides make it a Duke vent. Both showing fear. Fear in the eyes. Subtle crying. Though he's more quiet on the left than compared to how he is on the right. There is a ring of purple in his eye on the right. His face pains me because of the eyes. That pained expression.. ouch.

"Who are you really?"

(hurried whispering of words that involve Duke's identity and problems)

"I am the [Duke] Fierdan. I am the creator and the destroyer of worlds- the worlds of places and of people."

- DU | KE

Random deep quote I randomly thought of in November. What it means? Oh hmm?

Well.. Fierdan kinda was the creator of the world which then ended up being destroyed by him and Duke. Duke was the creator of people by creating friends, but then he secondhandledly causes the deaths of most of them.

Uh.. he's a destroyer. Dang it, boys.

Ugh, I gotta end this post now.

Did I draw Duke too much like a girl? I don't know.

I like that deep quote. Mm.. words. Heck me up.

Ok bye.
