Creepy Child (finished)

Hey, I finally finished a drawing wip from a while back.

Young Duke being a creepy child.. who is considered to be more of a monster than another little kid.

Read that post I linked to for more context about the picture. It's from Chapter 27. My comments from back then are killing me slowly because they're full of cringe.

"Don't say I didn't warn you."- Duke.

But instead of how I wrote it, I drew Duke saying that when he got out of the pool. The back of his hand and his nails are crimson-colored because that's what I wrote in the chapter.. hahaa.

I drew it so the viewer can be the other teens. They're afraid of little kid Duke because he knocked out his cousin (oh whom? idk still) while in the pool, he got blood on his hand, his cursed flame mark is visible, and he is staring madly at the teen who was teasing and harassing him. In the drawing, Duke is about to scratch half of the harasser teen's face with his bloody nails.

So yeah. He's a creepy child. This boy.. oh geez.

I tried to exaggerate the eyes and mouth to make it look more creepy. I think it looks a little better from the wip. I don't think the hair and anatomy look as awful now. I fixed the hand and neck.

Anyway, here's the finished version:

He's supposed to be 6 (which I guess is the equivalent to being 9) years old in this. Hmm, I hope he looks younger in this than my other drawings of him. Yeah idk lmao uh.

There weren't any actual visible orange and black fire sparks from that old chapter, but I drew them anyways.

I still don't like how I drew his arms. They look.. bad.

Parts of his hair are darker than others. That shows how parts of his hair got wet. The blue is supposed to be water droplets.

Aww, look at how big those shirt sleeves are compared to his small shoulders. Pfft, my child. Uh.. Duke's my child, ok lmao.

His white shirt got wet, so it's supposed to look see-through. Eh, I tried.

I like the hand way better in his version than the wip version. The fingers, the shapes.. yeah, it's better here.

Ugh, those eyes look uneven. I like his right eye more. They're big to make it look like he's staring creepily. Creepy eyes to accompany that creepy smile. Aww yeah heck.

..... ...... .....

Future story scenes that I see as parallels to this drawing/scene:

- Duke saying something like, "You can't kill me that easily" to Risak before beating the living crap out of him.
- Duke saying something like, "I see a flaw in your actions" to Taurel before beating the living crap out of him.

Duke's voice, appearance, and actions are all more scary than the time before. Hmm, more violent you could say.

Duke with Risak is more scary than the Duke in the scene this drawing is from. And Duke with Taurel is scarier than him with Risak.

Basically, Duke is a creepy guy who actually can become legit terrifying at times.

(I said "creepy" a lot in this post, lmao.)

Hmm wait. I guess it can be argued that Duke with Risak is the most cruel. I mean.. the results of the Duke vs. Risak fight.. umm oh damn.

But even from the beginning of the Duke vs. Taurel fight, Duke is still brutally violent even if he can't be violent in the same way that he was in his fight with Risak. I think it'll be more disturbing to write the Duke vs. Taurel fight than the Duke vs. Risak fight because there's more intimate physical violence in the Taurel one. Haha, more blood and less mercy. Ongoing pain can be worse than death. Duke learns that from his time with Taurel.

Duke... <3 :'0 my boy!

Yes, there are gonna be some violent fights. >;)

Uh.. where was I going with this? I don't know.

Bye for now.
